Previously, there was a comment claiming that searchForRecomboSitesOneComp(int minarclength, int maxarclength) is used only in runRecombo and that there are bugs. Unfortunately, the comment did not elaborate, so we do not know what those bugs might be.
Fortunately, that function was not needed for any executable or test currently produced in building the product. Hence it was safe to delete.
