Um, usually Vimium C will only show a notification every one and a half months (when a minor version released). The v1.80.1 is a special case, mainly because it breaks too many backward compatibility (but I don't want a version code of v1.81, since Chrome is only in 79/80). I promise this will be rare.

Anyway, I'll add another option or some way to turn off the notifications.

So should Vimium C open its options page actively for a breaking update? Or just show a tip when you open the page after an update?

Hello, v1.80.2 has been published on Chrome Web Store and Firefox Add-ons, and it has an advanced option Show a notification when Vimium C is updated, which can be turned off.

Um, it's this:

  • in recent months, Vimium C had tens of new versions: v1.79.0, v1.79.1, v1.79.2, ..., v1.80.0, v1.80.1
  • normally a notification will be shown only when it finds a "minor version" (the "79" or "80" part) gets increased
  • but I add an extra notification for v1.80.1, to address its big and incompatible changes
  • so from v1.80.1 to v1.80.2 there is indeed no notification.
