Out of curiosity, what kind of annotation is that? I've never seen it in Doxygen proper, is it some custom Doxygen command that gets translated to a GTK-DOC annotation? If so, is there somewhere these are documented so we can know which ones to use where?

We've got some custom commands. They are not documented (where would you put it?) but listed in the Doxyfile (see ALIASES). The custom commands are specifically for the gtkdoc header generation and processed the gen-api-gtkdoc.py script. They can be output to the html/pdf docs too if wanted.

…and they map pretty close to GI annotations, so that doc will explain what's what
