The previous version of the GSLab RA manual as of Feb 2021 is archived in a private repository here. A public zip archive of the manual pages is here.

Our current version of the lab reflects a considerable number of updates and changes to our infrastructure. Among the largest is the shift away from SVN as a version control system. This section includes brief descriptions of tools defunct as of Lab Reorg 0.5. For more complete documentation see the old RA manual from our SVN repository here.

SVN was our version control system prior to git. SVN uses a centralized structure. Files are stored on a central server and individual directories can be checked out for local use. We have exported the head revision of our SVN repository in Dropbox at /SVN_main/. We maintain a live version of the SVN repository on a Mac Mini local machine in the Stanford lab. Instructions for accessing this repository are here.

JIRA was our task management software before GitHub. JIRA stores project ideas and work logged on numerous tasks. Task management on JIRA informs our current task management protocol. See Section 10 of the prior RA manual for more documentation. Our archived JIRA instance can be accessed here.

Confluence was our wiki before GitHub. Confluence stores administrative details and notes from past projects. See Section 14 of the prior RA manual for more documentation. Our archived confluence instance can be accessed here.
