These changes fix some punctuation and formatting issues in the README and reformat the file as markdown. This PR is intended to be helpful; any comments and/or questions are more than welcome.

This is the format used most often on GitHub when introducing a software
package to potential users and developers, and allows for simple formatting
of the README document.  As part of this change I added headers for
installation and documentation sections.

Actually no, although I'm taking part in the PR challenge (I got Kavorka this month). However, I used your module at work and saw a couple of things I could possibly fix up and thought I'd throw you some PRs :-)

Neat, thanks! Not sure i’d call it mine, I’m just the current maintainer, since it looked like it got abandoned a while back, and the PR challenge made me want to adopt it. I’ll push out a release tonight I hope.
