I opened Gephi, but could not find ranking and partition tabs on the top left side of the window, and I couldn't find them in other places as well. Attached please find a screen shot of my Gephi window. Thank you.

Hi, in 0.9 ranking and partition modules have been merged into a single "Appearance" tab. The functionalities are the same and if you click on "Attribute" it should look like what ranking or partition looked like.

You should update the QuickStart slides. I got to slide 9, and then was completely stumped.

Also, what happened to the "Range" slider for the "Degree" attribute?

As a follow-up: in 0.9 how do you access the ranking result table?

Taskbar->windows->Data Table

I think taskbar->windows->Data table only gives you the original data. I'd like to view the Ranking Result table explained in the Gephi Quick start guide, slide 11

I had the same problem. Initially. I didn't see the degree values in the Data Table. I solved it as follows:

  • in the statistics panel, run Average Degree
  • new columns will appear in the data table for In-Degree, Out-Degree and Degree

"what happened to the "Range" slider for the "Degree" attribute?"

I was following the QuickStart and was stuck on this too.
Solution: the Node size range is separately selected on the Appearances window. The four icons on the top right correspond to node color, node size, label color, label size, and you have to select each one, then select your attribute and range options. (So, unlike the guide, the size and color range settins will not display together. Presumably the benefit is you can scale color and size based on different attributes now.)

Still haven't figured out how to see the Ranking results....

Thanks buddy. It did add the degree column in the data table. The quick start guide is still not updated on this.
