Support for Minecraft Bedrock

Would it be possible for the new Minecraft service widget to support self-hosted Docker/Bedrock?

Perhaps I'm configuring it wrong, but the widget shows "offline", even with the port set to 19132.

The Minecraft server ecosystem seems complicated, I think the current widget was built against https://github.com/itzg/docker-minecraft-server or https://api.mcsrvstat.us, might be worth clarifying in the docs

I just set up these widgets and am having the same issue. https://github.com/itzg/docker-minecraft-server is what I'm hosting with.

ITZG offers Docker Containers for both, Bedrock and Java Edition, so just referring to Minecraft or ITZG will still be confusing ;-)
I think currently the docs for the Minecraft Wiki should state that it is only working for the Java Edition.

I, myself would also really like to see support for the Bedrock Edition. The API obviously seems to be different. But it should be possible, since there are Minecraft Server Admin tools out there that support both editions.

I've just come across the issue myself, using itzg/docker-bedrock-server. An update to the docs about this would be great.

I think the current widget only supports Java edition servers due to using minecraft-ping-js to communicate with the server. With some research it looks like there are not a lot of options, but @minescope/mineping supports both Java and Bedrock edition servers.

Perhaps the widget could be transitioned to use that package instead with an added option for type: java/bedrock, but that is a little out of my wheelhouse.

Minecraft Bedrock may be supported by the GamedIg widget

Thanks for the tip! I got it working with gamedig, for folks looking here's what works for me:

    - Minecraft Test Widget:
        icon: minecraft.png
        description: Ubuntu (Oracle)
        widget:
            type: gamedig
            serverType: minecraftbe
            url: udp://IP:19132
            fields: ["name", "players", "ping"]

Also, the name field will display the server name that you have set in the file server.properties on the bedrock server.

I also added href: https://CRAFTYIP:8443 after the icon line, for folks using Crafty Controller this makes the homepage widget clickable to bring you to Crafty.

Np! You should be able to use status as a field in the latest (or upcoming) build to show online/offline status of the server too
