This release provides a subtle patch to Hybrid Proof of Work Rule 3 that reduces the likelihood of a stuck network in the event of low node count - like in the case of the testnet. This version includes better testnet functionality and an updated 'Lynx' client name on the network.

This update is recommended but not mandatory.

The latest desktop wallets for Linux, MacOS and Windows (32 & 64) are available. For safety, users should NOT copy wallet.dat files between wallet versions, instead coins should be sent to a new address created by this wallet version. For safety, reusing the same Lynx address is discouraged. Additionally, users are encouraged to enable wallet encryption after install.

This version includes the built-in miner. Running at a maximum of only 1% CPU on the target nodes (including desktops), the Lynx application small foot print is easy to set up and inexpensive to maintain. The builtin miner will start automatically as soon as at least 1,000 Lynx are received by a local address in the wallet.

This release includes the Hybrid Proof of Work (HPoW) business rules that drive the energy efficient nature of Lynx, as specified in the whitepaper available on the website. The following block targets indicate the phased release of HPoW rules.

  1. Upon the arrival of Block 2,630,000, Rule 1 of HPoW will be implemented with a delay time of 10 blocks.
  2. Upon the arrival of Block 2,680,000, Rule 2 of HPoW will be implemented with using the power of 2.
  3. Upon the arrival of Block 2,730,000, Rule 1 of HPoW will be implemented with a delay time of 20 blocks.
  4. Upon the arrival of Block 2,780,000, Rule 3 of HPoW will be implemented using only 1 digit of the hash result to match. This sets a probability of 1 in 16 the miner will win the block.
  5. Upon the arrival of Block 2,830,000, Rule 1 of HPoW will be implemented with a delay time of 30 blocks.
  6. Upon the arrival of Block 2,930,000, Rule 1 of HPoW will be implemented with a delay time of 40 blocks.
  7. Upon the arrival of Block 3,030,000, Rule 1 of HPoW will be implemented with a delay time of 50 blocks.
  8. Upon the arrival of Block 3,230,000, Rule 2 of HPoW will be implemented with using the power of 3.
  9. Upon the arrival of Block 3,630,000, Rule 3 of HPoW will be implemented using only 2 digit of the hash result to match. This sets a probability of 1 in 256 the miner will win the block.
  10. Upon the arrival of Block 3,730,000, Rule 2 of HPoW will be implemented with using the power of 4.
  11. Upon the arrival of Block 5,630,000, Rule 3 of HPoW will be implemented using only 3 digit of the hash result to match. This sets a probability of 1 in 4,096 the miner will win the block.
