While shipping binaries is fine for Linux, it would also be convenient to have packaging for more convenient updates and management. This probably should include a minimal man page that points to the doc site and the built-in help command.

After digging in for a while, deb seems too complicated for what I want to do. I'm going to try Snap, which, while Ubuntu-centric, appears to be reasonably well-supported.

Oof. More dead ends: neither WSL or Crostini (my dev environments) support Snap. I think 1.0 is going to have to move forward with my current binary shipping, which seems to be mighty more reliable and simpler than package managers so far. 🙁
