I tried to activate the Aether portal (I made sure I built it right), but it doesn't activate. Only water comes out. No portal.

Could be a mod conflict, perhaps the mod isn't loaded. not enough info here.

Also it's been mentioned that this issues tracker is meant for the 1.7 version. Use this one instead:
