Can link mode replace URLs navigated to from ext. sources?

Hi!
I don't see this behavior on Safari 17.4, but I just wanted to make sure.
When I click a link in an external app, and it opens in Safari with the add-on enabled, and a link mode rule configured (which matches against links seen on websites), e.g.:

it doesn't seem to redirect the page according to the replacement.
If this isn't supposed to be the case, and would require development, the question can be closed/converted into an issue :)

This would be a fun feature to add, so you could configure links to open in app urls too.
