This might be a really dumb question, but I'm having a really hard time figuring out how to determine if the current buffer is modified. This seems like it would be built in functionality, is there are provider for this and I'm just missing it?

Sorry, yes, this was a dumb question.

By the way, it might be useful to separate the stuff in provider_fileinfo into more distinct functions so they don't necessarily need to be used together.
