Recently tried to add the option shellslash to my vimrc on gvim (7.4) windows.
This broke the installation and update process and I was getting errors such as:

Obviously this is something I can handle - just by turning noshellslash but I want that option, it's easier to navigate/see/find files, and hate to give it up, just because Vundle isn't adjusted to handling it.

You should check neobundle, vundle has been officially abandoned by its creator and he hasn't worked on it for many months. Neobundle works with 'shellslash' and has many other niceties https://github.com/Shougo/neobundle.vim

Where do you have writing that he abandoned it? He just doesn't have the time and would like the community to help out.

As for contribution back i meant 'shellslash' issue which i think still present in Vundle but your fork lists it as an advantage over Vundle "Works if you set 'shellslash' in your .vimrc."

@gmarik knows this problem. And I can fix and send pull request for it same as neobundle.
But I don't know it is accepted if I send pull request.

@Shougo it wouldn't hurt to send out anyway. People can download and apply the diffs and use them (we all know how to use Git, right? 👯)
