GDL> a=ptrarr(10)
GDL> sort(a)
% PRINT: Variable is undefined: <Undefined>

but

IDL> a=ptrarr(10)
IDL> sort(a)
           0           1           2           3           4           5           6           7           8           9

actually pointers are sorted as if sorting ptr_valid(array_of_pointers,/get)
