but when I am logged in I can see a different heatmap because of my private contributions
I understand that my view and the public view differs because of my private repos but why is the tab called Public Activity when its also my private one?
I also dont quite understand why the heatmap does not include private contributions on the public view? Of course the actual activity should stay private but the heatmap could be updated and just like in gitlab we could say Private activity happened here

I think it should be up to the user privacy choice which heatmap view to share. On the logged in side, it would be interesting to have a toggle between different heatmap views and in the future add other filters as well.
As you can see on my profile: https://codeberg.org/schorsch?tab=activity there is a heatmap showing my public activity. It probably looks similar to this here
