Relates to #862.

For historical reasons, which I don't precisely remember, the DBUpdates method always forced feed=continuous&since=now. Then I updated it to support other feed modes, but to not break existing clients, left those as the defaults for v4. With v5, we should switch to the CouchDB defaults.
