Try to delete its entire folder and manually download it again; then check for permissions on its folders, if you somehow decompressed the editor as Administrator but is now running it as a regular user. Lastly, if you have an anti-virus (such as Windows Defender), check if it is not blocking you to do the upgrade - because "security". |
I keep unsunscribing but I keep getting these emails.
Either unsubscribe me permanently or I will mark future emails from you as
spam.

@JohnTodd1971 try learning how to use a service next time before you sign up and look like a moron. On GitHub (web or app), go to Settings > Notifications and uncheck any email notifications you don't care to receive. |
The problem is I already tried that. It didn't work.

This repository is one of their many and there's nothing anyone here can do to remove you from receiving notifications. |
I tried re-installing and it's not working. Would it be my antivirus then? |
My Bitdefender blocks the download sometimes after they update it. Just turn everything off in your anti virus download it, place the folder in exceptions then turn everything back on. That works for me. |
This has to do with the Java version installed. I have Java 8 build 318 on one computer and Java 8 build 411 on another. On the old Java version, it updates, no questions asked. On the newest Java version, it won't update - the file is downloaded but it returns "access denied" while trying to remove the old JAR file. Either this function or behavior changed within new Java versions. For now, do a manual update by downloading the https://github.com/goatfungus/NMSSaveEditor/blob/master/NMSSaveEditor.jar file and overwrite it on your save game editor folder. @goatfungus FYI |
So, this has been an issue for me since Orbital, my save editor won't update. Every time I click yes it just reloads the save editor and asks me again to update. I've ended up clicking no to close it and run the save editor anyway. As a result, I get odd placeholder codes for ship parts and whatnot. I'd love to be able to use the save editor to its fullest extent, but the inability to download any updates is getting in the way.
