I updated this for myself and friends, but here's a PR if you want it. I think the API has changed since previous PRs for 4.0 but should be fairly stable now that 4.0 is well into beta.

If you accept this I guess you'll want to keep it in a 4.0 branch for now as it's not backward-compatible with 3.x.
