support for mirror func

for some season, golang.org is blocked.
Can you add a feature to support mirror func?

unfortunately, while there are relatively simple hacks we could undertake to achieve mirroring, they all open up the possibility of new behaviors that would introduce ambiguity into the system in a way that would significantly harm the ecosystem over the long term.

consequently, we are rolling mirroring in with the more general problems of proxies and registries #174. we're making progress on a spec there, but unfortunately, it's still likely to be several months, at least 😢
