would be very handy.
based on the docs, it looks like it could run in the same application on app engine too.

Anyway, has anyone gotten this far with this ?

It could work using App Engine's Backends, but not on Frontends. You would need to write your own PeerPicker/ProtoGetter implementations.

OK back end means as a VM I assume ?

No. App Engine called them Backends, and later renamed them modules. It doesn't mean VMs.

Github is slow here in Europe. Another ddos. Weekly affair these days :)

It works great on Managed VMs - just use the metadata API to 'discover' the peers and it works great.

If I get chance I'll writeup a blog article on the details.
