What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Open Authentication
2. Try to put Begin Setup button
3. Immediately unfortunately, authentication has stopped

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Happens on my Sony Xperia Z Ultra and also my Xperia Tablet Z, both on 4.2.2 and the recent 4.3 update. Immediate crash on hitting Setup.

But what really fixed it was removing 2 step from my Google account entirely and starting fresh, but that meant some of my external accounts had to be deregistered and reregistered also.

I have a Xperia Z1 with stock 4.3 and my Authenticator app gives the same problem. However, I can confirm the solution given above works (under the "Update 2" post) and does not affect 2-step verification status.

Have tried uninstalling/reinstalling and the same thing happens, I hit the Begin Setup button, the please wait dialog comes up for a split second, and the crash report screen displays.
