1.5.31-1.0.1 is not compatible with Gradle 6.8 #723
Comments
I'd actually be in favor of just raising the minimum required Gradle version. 6.8 is very old at this point |
Gradle 7.0.2 also has this problem, 7.2 is too high at this point |
While I'm not sure I agree (Gradle community has a terrible pattern record of expecting plugin developers to support long tails of gradle versions to cater to consumers that just don't want to take the time to update), that seems more reasonable than 6.8. |
I don't think it's a great idea to limit gradle support above 7.0 or newer. There are still a lot of people sticking to the old gradle versions like 5.x, 6.x. BTW, Kotlin 1.6 requires a minimum Gradle version 6.1. |
Citation needed? Especially if it's because they have to vs just aren't bothering to update. |
I have the same problem with Kotlin 1.6.0 + Gradle 7.0 + KSP 1.6.0-1.0.1 |
* Update kotlin version to `1.6.0` * Update gradle version because of google/ksp#723 * Also update gradle version for tests harness project because of google/ksp#723 * Update gradle version and build.gradle.kts setup for other harness projects
Im this vote, only 30% of the developers use 7.x in production. It takes great effort to upgrade. It requires the Android Gradle Plugin to upgrade in the same time, which causes a lot of problems when compiles. In my company, the most commonly used Gradle version is 5.x. |
So KSP 1.0.2 will be compatible with Gradle 7.0 & 7.2? Or with 6.x too? Any estimates when it may be released? |
KSP 1.6.10-1.0.2 works fine with Gradle 7.0.2 (didn't try older ones yet). Thanks for fixing! |
Kotlin Version: 1.5.31

It seems that Gradle have moved the
org.gradle.util.VersionNumber
toorg.gradle.util.internal.VersionNumber
since 7.0.The text was updated successfully, but these errors were encountered:
