@oliverchang @Dor1s

This is something I'm toying with.

My goal is to be able to compile fuzzers without checking out anything manually (for easy reproducing)

I suggest we define meta information for projects with environment variables. This seems to be the least intrusive option for host OSS projects (no additional files to drop in).

I've almost went crazy trying to understand where is one more line from Mike's comment. GitHub sends notifications for new pull requests, but didn't send about edited ones :)

Seems good to me, but I assume the Jenkinsfile still needs the git url in it to have it properly set up? Or can we get rid of Jenkinsfile completely (or at least generate it automatically).

It seems to me there might still be some value to have a .json file to store more complex metadata though, such as seed corpus (and maybe also .options file generation). We may even be able to generate the both the Jenkinsfile and Dockerfile automatically from this single json. What do you think?

Alright, I'll split it into more manageable chunks and will send a review.

The corresponding github issue has more detail on the problem.

This code is not in any meaningful state to be committed -- it contains a bunch of hacks I had to make to get the binary to build statically -- libunwind is linked in (via folly), and I had to make changes to include liblzma as well (which libunwind depends on) as well as fix some other unrelated cmake issues.

Reproduction instructions below.

First, build it with `python infra/helper.py build_fuzzers --sanitizer address proxygen`
Then, check the build (it will pass): `python infra/helper.py check_build proxygen`
Then, run the fuzzer: `python infra/helper.py run_fuzzer proxygen ProxygenHTTP1xFuzzer`

It will fail in about ~30 seconds with the below trace. If the fuzzer goes down another path, I've had it reproduce easily by pulling up the shell, running `base64 -d`, pushing that input to a file, and then running the fuzzer directly on that file.

This seems wrong to me since the code is inside a try/catch block: https://github.com/facebook/proxygen/blob/master/proxygen/lib/utils/ParseURL.cpp#L159-L164

I can confirm that the same input does not crash the fuzzer in the version being built on oss-fuzz trunk (and indeed it would have also reported this as a test-case by now given it's been running over a day)

We've still got an issue with crashes on the urllib3 requests test that
uses the mock HTTP server.

Fix #9958 to handle port mapping errors didn't resolve it.

I got a feeling there's an ordering issue. Looking at the error logs
[https://bugs.chromium.org/p/oss-fuzz/issues/detail?id=56500#c2](https://bugs.chromium.org/p/oss-fuzz/issues/detail?id=56500#c2)
there appears to be an issue where we're throwing exceptions before the
coverage completes.

This is an attempted fix inspired by the requests
[fuzz_server.py](https://github.com/google/oss-fuzz/blob/master/projects/requests/fuzz_server.py)
where the lifecycle of the test thread is managed within the server.
Since the web server is created at the start of `TestOneInput` I don't
expect there to be any timing issues or thread initialisation issues.

Java projects are currently failing Fuzz Introspector following
#10538

```bash
Step #6 - "compile-libfuzzer-introspector-x86_64": ---------------------------------------------------------------
Step #6 - "compile-libfuzzer-introspector-x86_64": chmod: cannot access '/workspace/out/libfuzzer-introspector-x86_64/jazzer_driver_with_sanitizer': No such file or directory
Step #6 - "compile-libfuzzer-introspector-x86_64": ********************************************************************************
```

There is a missing "introspector" conditional in
https://github.com/google/oss-fuzz/blob/6922c8c1ac27c9a459ce41201991e296a6bace54/infra/base-images/base-builder/compile#L152-L171

This causes line 171 to fail.

It may be convenient to search for "jvm" in the table here
https://introspector.oss-fuzz.com/indexing-overview which will show the
introspector build status is red for all.

This enables fuzz introspector for lua.

The [current
build](https://oss-fuzz-build-logs.storage.googleapis.com/log-95e09fbf-701e-4adf-ad25-8629c7dd5f8a.txt)
fails with:
```
Step #6 - "compile-libfuzzer-introspector-x86_64": [Log level 1] : 10:13:22 : This means a main function is in the source code rather in the libfuzzer library, and thus we do not care about it. We only want to study the actual fuzzers. Exiting this run.
Step #6 - "compile-libfuzzer-introspector-x86_64": /usr/bin/ld.gold: internal error in read_header_prolog, at ../../gold/dwarf_reader.cc:1678
Step #6 - "compile-libfuzzer-introspector-x86_64": clang-15: fatal error: linker command failed with exit code 1 (use -v to see invocation)
Step #6 - "compile-libfuzzer-introspector-x86_64": make: *** [makefile:119: lua] Error 1
Step #6 - "compile-libfuzzer-introspector-x86_64":
At first I thought this was an issue of multiple-definitions since the
error is the same as: #8629
However, allowing multiple definitions didn't work.
I'm not entirely sure why this fixes the problem. It was through trial
and error I came up with the fix. I assume it may be some ASAN gets
compiled in somehow during non-ASAN builds and this causes issues for
the gold linker (but not in non-gold linkers, i.e. coverage and other
sanitizers are fine).
This fixes the introspector build, but also adds ASAN instrumentation
which bloats the calltrees, but the function table is good.
I tried setting LDFLAGS=-fsanitizer=address but this didn't work in the
case of Lua. I have some ideas, however, to fix this. Will pursue that
at a later stage.
