I'm afraid I'm not the right person to review this. My only contribution to pprof was a frankly embarrassingly small typo change: I have no involvement with the project and haven't used any flame graphing capabilities of pprof

#825 removed d3 flamegraph dependency, this PR is not relevant anymore.
