Misplaced diacritics in Noto Serif Kannada: ಜಾ಼ಕಿರ್ #26
Comments
@sridatta1 I found a similar issue with typing word Rank in Kannada. harfbuzz/harfbuzz#341 But how do we stop the users from using the reverse sequence? I am asking for suggestion. Btw, this reverse sequence is supported in Google Noto Sans Kannada and Tunga. We need some concerted effort here wrt Kannada and Unicode. Tunga font(doesn't have issue) and Nirmala UI(has same problem) No issue in Chrome and Windows 7 (I am not sure what font it is using here). |

Noto Serif Kannada seems to mis-place the diacritics when rendering ಜಾ಼ಕಿರ್ :
But with Noto Sans Kannada, the same string seems fine:
Both samples rendered with HarfBuzz 1.4.4. This was originally reported by @MayuraVerma as unicode-org/text-rendering-tests#21, but this smells more like a bug with Noto Serif Kannada. @marekjez86, can you also add a test case to https://github.com/googlei18n/noto-source/tree/master/test/Kannada ?
