This program is widely used to store manga, which usually have titles with Japanese characters. This means that when doing a search you have to configure your keyboard to type in hiragana.
Describe the solution you'd like
A possible solution for this problem is to index the sort title of series and allow to search it, so that you can write the romaji title in that field and later be able to search it.
