I noticed the ruby-on-rails community is titled "Ruby on Rails" whereas Go is just called golang.

Can the Go community just be called "Go" while maintaining the same url? https://gratipay.com/for/golang/

It's not currently possible, because the code assumes that the URL slug is the normalized form of the name. The normalized form of Go is go, not golang.

Interesting.

Why do some communities start with a capital letter while others lowercase?

Because the users who created them used that casing.

Fwiw, I'm fine with us curating names of communities. We can't have "Go" as the title with "golang" as the slug because of a technical limitation, not a procedural one.

Okay.

I'm not sure if renaming the slug would cause havoc?

@nathany Maintaining a redirect would be a pain. I'd rather add a column for community title for manual overrides like this.

Thanks @whit537

Not a huge priority. It just would be nice :-)
