Frequently when opening a new tab, the page display will either be blank or be stuck as what was in the previously focused tab. Sometimes it eventually (after several minutes) will display correctly, but not always. These tabs are not suspended, and are way below the time threshold (2 hours). Sometimes duplicating a tab will then cause it to display correctly, but not always. And reloading the tab basically never works. I have screen capturing turned off. This issue persists whether the automatically unsuspend option is active or not. I love this extension, I had been running out of RAM with Chrome and making it barely usable, and this has seemed the perfect fix. I had tried similar extensions, but they don't preserve the page name in the tab title like TGS. Unfortunately, this new issue also causes severe issues in my ability to use Chrome effectively.

Hi. Cheers for the feedback and sorry for the late response.
Are you able to confirm if this is still happening? And why do you suspect it is related to this extension?
I'm currently in the process of developing a new version and it would be great to fix this issue.

Thanks for the reply. I'm glad to hear you're picking development of this
back up, as I have not been able to find a suitable alternative. I cannot
presently confirm whether this issue is still happening, as I have left the
extension disable since I left that feedback, but I have re-enabled it now
and will get back to you. This was the only new extension I had installed
in some time, and since this was the only change I had made to my browser
configuration, I believed this extension to be the culprit. In addition,
the problem went away after disabling the extension.

Please let me know if there is any more information I could provide that
would be helpful. I would also be happy to serve as a beta tester for the
new version, if you happen to need any.

Hello again. As promised, I am following up now that I have been using The
Great Suspender again for a week. So far, it has been working great, it is
keeping Chrome's memory usage down so that my RAM isn't at the max (I have
16 GB, but I also have 172 tabs open at the moment), and I have had no
issues so far with the flashing black page.

Back before I had the issue the most on sites like Hulu (especially my
queue page), Google image searches, and image- and content-heavy pages
(such as stories from news sites). I suspect it was related to Flash in
some way, so perhaps whatever bug existed then has gone away with a newer
version of Flash.

Thanks again for getting back to me, and thanks for making a great
extension. I look forward to the new version.
