Since version 1.2 (specifically commit 49f8cb6caf4a45a92b2511119def97de3eb17f87), GMavenPlus hasn't allowed the use of Indy back to when it was first introduced (2.0.0-beta-3), and instead was looking for version 2.1.0-beta-3 (which doesn't exist), with the net effect of forcing users to use version 2.1.0-rc-1 or newer.

My sincerest thanks to Pascal for pointing out my goof.
