Overview

We need to define some user groups so that we can have a set of draft personas to create research programs around.

Action Items

  • Copy the content from the Figjam to the sheet
    • LAUSD Students
    • Educators
    • Funders
    • Parents
    • Students
    • City Staff
    • Non Profit
    • Potential Employers
  • Add at least one actual person (that we could interview) into the sheet per definition
    • LAUSD Students
      • STEM club member
      • STEM club non-member
      • Self-taught Software Developer
    • Educators
      • Within our geographical area of interest
      • Outside our geographical area of interest
    • Funders
      • Who are trying to promote DEI
      • Who want to connect people of all ages
      • Parents of privilege who are potential funders
      • Who are passionate about STEM
    • Parents
      • College Graduates with College expectations
      • Not College Graduates with College Expectations
    • Students
      • Don’t want to go to college because of cost, time, motivation, support, or any other tangible factor or psychological reason.
      • Don't want to go to college.
      • Don't want to be STEM college majors
      • Don't want to take STEM classes
    • City Staff
    • Non Profit
    • Employers
      • tech organizations where our students can potentially work
      • Has an internship program for College Students

  • Define why they fit the persona
  • Define a Biography exercise for our team volunteers for each of the user types where we validate that we have created enough general information about the user to inform our volunteers

Notes from Figma (figure out how they fit into the persona):
Sometimes the students we are speaking to have no confidence in the structures that support them
Some students are benefiting from structures that support them

We need to review IP: Personas - User Stories and Journeys [Template with examples], which was updated by Seena so that we have a completed list for our User Groups.
