  • See this thread
  • Use the /local or the /community path?
  • I know it should be obvious to use the latter, but I'm having trouble getting HA to use/find the module. It works on all desktop browsers (macos catalina, imac pro, macbook pro) but does not work with the HASS companion apps (v1.xx and v2β, ios13 and ipados13)
  • It might be a local issue as I just realized I might have curruption in the file system on the rpi4 hassio install, moving that to fsck it on another box, even though, for new users the ambigous installation documentation should be alleviated somehow (imho).
Thanks a lot for HACS! Awesome work!

/community/ has never been or will never be valid.
The correct path is presented to you inside HACS for every plugin.
At the bottom of the page where you install that particular plugin.

If that is not good enough, please add more description to this https://hacs.xyz/docs/categories/plugins with the "Edit this page" link :)

For plugins you install with HACS you can use:

  • /local/community/pluginname/pluginname.js
  • /community_plugin/pluginname/pluginname.js

The /community_plugin/ endpoint has 2(3) main advantages over the /local/:

  • It serves files without cache
  • It serves a gz version of the file (smaller to transfer over the network)
  • (When you add your first plugin with HACS you don't need to restart HA.)

As for your issue, since it works on desktop, HACS has done its job, it downloads files.
If you can see the card when you click the "Open plugin" button you see in HACS on every plugin you have installed, the issue is elsewhere.
