Describe the bug
Hi, thanks for all your work on this integration. The electric readings are working perfectly but the gas cost per unit and standing charge keeps throwing an error and reporting as unknown in the front-end. I ran with debugging but it only shows a couple of http get commands before the error message below.

This error suggests that DCC does not currently access tariff data for your meter.
Can you see tariff data on your smart meter?
Does the Bright app show tariff data?

Ah, yes, your are correct. No gas tariff data in the app either

A few people have had this issue.
If you contact you energy provider they will (eventually) fix it.

We have been discussing a better way of handling the error, but don’t have a solution yet.

@timstanley1985 i have this exact issue with British Gas,
they cant even get my GAS to display on my in home display let alone assign a tariff to the gas meter 🙄
you can just ignore it for the moment as the only thing you can do is complain to your gas supplier and get them to fix it

Hi Thanks for the amazing work you have done to get this working, I have set this up today, but I am also getting the issue with tariff not displayed for my electric, although this is displayed in my IHD, it is not displayed in the Bright app, so I assume it isn’t being pulled from the DCC either?
if it is displayed in the IHD is it likely that it’ll eventually pull into Bright without having to contact my supplier?

@dancingbear84 try giving the bright app 24 hours to see if the data gets pulled in
(HA also takes 2 hours to start generating graphs etc)
if its still showing no data you could try @ColinRobbins fork and see if that data is displayed
if not then sadly contact your supplier

im having a similar issue where my old tariff has just expired
and it took 2 days for HA to show the new standard variable tariff (it was the same with the IHD unit too)
although im still yet to get any GAS tariff to display in the bright app OR on my IHD unit

@si458 Thanks very much, I seemed to recall reading something similar last night, but it was past midnight and things weren’t sinking in. I’ll give it 24 hours and see what happens, it seemed odd that I was getting tariff details for the gas but not the electric when they’re both in the IHD. I’m keen to avoid speak to British Gas unless I have no choice, they’re a nightmare to get hold of.

@dancingbear84 im with British Gas too but im the other way around haha, elec fine but no gas, im just glad my tariff has now expired and im on standard variable rate so i cant wait to move when the energy market sorts itself out, ill be moving...

An option to consider is make it a formal complaint to your energy provider.
For every formal complaint, that remains unresolved after 2 months, they get fined £400 by the energy watchdog! So it tends to get their attention.

@ColinRobbins been there done that got the 50 pages of letter complaints and its still not fixed it really is annoying...

Nothing popped up in Bright for me yet, if I decide I can be bothered I’ll call BG but most likely I’ll not bother and wait till I change tariff
