I'm so glad to have found this extension, and it's already extremely useful for me. So, thank you!

An issue I'm encountering is that, after choosing a result in the Gnome search, it seems that the Firefox window containing the tab is only made the active window if it's on another workspace or is covered by another window on the current workspace.

Thanks @squidbidness .

I'm not able to reproduce it on GNOME Shell: 41.3 and Firefox 96.0 on OS: Fedora Linux 35
I'm using Ctrl+T to determine in Firefox is active or not.
Can you confirm/provide few things for me?

  • Version number of host connector, gnome-shell, gnome shell extension, browser extension
  • If your system is different from what I mentioned, can you share necessary information for me to replicate issue.
  • Do you have any Firefox (based, or different channel dev, nightly) installed, if yes which one?
  • Do you have any extension like No annoyance v2 or Remove windows ready notification?
    • shell extension(Browser tabs) also provides similar functionality, which might be conflicting.

Firefox extension: 1.1.0 Jan 25, 2022
Host connector: version: 0.1.1 commit: 822c747
GNOME shell extension version 4

GNOME Shell 3.36.4
Firefox 95.0b7, Ubuntu 20.04

I don't have those shell extensions installed. I will at least try disabling all other shell extensions and see if that works around it.

Just as one sanity diagnostic, I disabled all my Gnome Shell extensions and Firefox extensions, restarted Firefox, and I still see the issue.

Hey sorry for delay.
This extension was developed with GNOME 40+ in mind, so i was surprised to see it work on 3.36 on Ubuntu 20.04.
I couldn't reproduce this issue on Wayland display server, but it's reproducible on Xorg server. So either underlying issue is with GNOME or Firefox.
I'm unable to fix it via extension alone. And Ubuntu 22.04 will default to Wayland display server, so I hope this won't affect many people.

Sorry.
