The objective of this project is to explore and analyze air pollution data in India, and visualize the findings using Tableau.
This visualization displays the top 10 cities in India with the highest mean Air Quality Index (AQI). The cities are ranked in descending order, As expected Delhi, gurugram takes the top place
Except Chennai , Rest all cities have a similar pattern in timeseries
The Mean AQI tops in winter season with December and january having the highest levels
Delhi and Gurugram have unsafe AQI levels over than 85% of all time which is dangerously high . Accoreding to WHO , The specific disease outcomes most strongly linked with exposure to air pollution include stroke, ischaemic heart disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, lung cancer, pneumonia, and cataract (household air pollution only).
There is suggestive evidence also linking air pollution exposure with increased risk for adverse pregnancy outcomes (i.e. low-birth weight, small for gestational age), other cancers, diabetes, cognitive impairment and neurological diseases
We can a dip in AQI levels in 2019 -2020 due to covid , but a constant percentage increase has been observed between 2015-19
