However, building out scope 3 sources and dynamic product carbon footprint (PCF) referencing capabilities could improve adoptability and facilitate better supply chain GHG accounting.
Additionally, the new SEC climate rules will imminently result in a large number of publicly traded companies conducting complex GHG inventories for the first time. This could be an opportunity for Guardian adoption as a solution that can streamline and simplify GHG inventories and generate results companies and investors can rely on. Therefore, building SEC requirements into the GHGP policy could further drive adoption.
Requirements
Some items that could help take this policy to the next level would be to build out scope 3 and PCF refencing capabilities, build out SEC compliance aspects, and pursue a “Built on GHGP Mark” of approval. I believe this will help drive the policy to be attractive to real world users and ready for adoption.
Definition of done
Update our current GHGP policy to version 3, which will include
a. Scope 3 sources.
b. Ability to publish and referencing dynamic PCFs.
c. SEC compliance requirements.
Build out an intuitive user friendly UX/UI that streamlines and simplifies GHG inventories while generating results companies and investors can rely on.
Create a detailed documentation on it.
Review it and get it approved.
Acceptance criteria
Development of GHGP Version 3 with all required approvals
