I've been playing around with hackage-mirror, and I was wondering if there is a way to
also mirror the package metadata and docs - i.e.:

  • the real upload date / uploaded-by
  • the "Distributions" field
  • docs (either uploaded or generated)

just to clarify, this about a smart mirror? I.e. one where you run a full hackage-server instance rather than merely a "dumb" (static fileserving) mirror for cabal-install to use?

I guess I'm interested in a "full" hackage-server.

It doesn't have to be able to accept new uploads or metadata changes, but it would be nice to be able to see the information that you would get if you viewed the package on hackage.haskell.org.

Erik -- can you give me some instructions on how to run the mirror? I'd like to play with it but I'm not having much luck :-/

Got the mirror running in other PRs. Btw, the other thing I noticed that mirroring doesn't do, which is arguably important, is deprecations.
