On websites the top-left most thing is often a link to the homepage of that site, as e.g. github, and hackage (while not on a haddock page).
On haddock pages, the top-left most thing is the package name followed by the version (e.g. filepath-1.4.2.2 on this page). Before I finally discovered the "Contents" link on the top right, I always wanted to click on that package name to get back to the package overview, i.e. the contents page. I still find myself wanting to do that now and again.
It would also be every so slightly easier/faster than finding the Contents link on the top right, where I have to make sure I click on the correct link among the 5 that are there.
So I think making the package name a link would make the site more intuitive and user-friendly, especially for new users.
