PS2 / GOG Autosplitter 1.4 minor update - openMSX v1.0
Clean up of PS2/GOG splitter code
Launch of openMSX autosplitter and splitfiles!
Consider this an early untested version where splitting might not work depending on game version.
MSX splitter features:
- Splitting on important screen changes (similar to PS2 checkpoint system)
- states for health, variables for completion in early draft
TBD: finish MSX splitter with boss completion and finalizing hundred percent tracker.
Autosplitter 1.3a hotfix
Latest release fixes a bug with the POW completion and setting options
Autosplitter v 1.3
Big Fix in this new version. Previously the Boss and POW split settings were broken and any update in the Boss tracker or POW tracker would split, no matter what setting was given. The new method checks individually per Bit in the tracker if a change has occured. Settings for Bosses and special POWs are now fully functional.
No further changes have been added to this version.
Autosplitter v 1.2
Minor update only
Made the end of building 1 and end of building 2 split point settings separate from the group setting. Meaning you can have sub settings active inside of buildings but don't have to accept splitting at the end of a building.

This release is a big step to finalizing the splitter.
new features!
- 100% completion tracker according to the Speedrun.com rules
- Individual completion tracker for Codecs, Inventory, Weapons, Bosses, POWs
- Settings enabled, you can now chose which splitpoints you want to split on
- Splitpoints defined for Bosses
- Splitpoints defined for Class updates
- Splitpoints defined for special POWs: Gray Fox, Ellen, Dr. Madnar
- Boss Survival timing method changed to new RTA timing rules. Starts on difficulty selection, splits and ends on fade to black
Known issues:
- Bloody Brads / Arnolds completion flag is not individually counted for, picking up the Level 7 card is mandatory regardless. Won't be fixed unless specifically required.
Splitfiles updates:
- Any% RTA, 100% and Big Boss splitfiles are including segments per boss kill to more accurately time segments
- Splitfiles work out of the box with the new default split-settings in the layout but can be further customized
Next steps:
- No further next steps are left. Waiting for feedback or bug reports.
- continue onwards to develop the Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake splitter.
Finally: This repository has been updated to the unlicense. Meaning anyone can take and transform the code, distribute it and use it personal and commercial matters. The code is intended for the community. For further details read about it in the license.md file.
Autosplitter v 1.01
Minor bug fix, sometimes the Building 2 death abuse splitting logic splits too early. New logic has been implemented for more robust splitting behaviour.
Autosplitter v 1.0
Almost feature complete. Only missing the key variables for tracking 100% progress and the difference between Original and Easy difficulty.
Let's list the updates:
- Moved all different region splitters into a single asl file for your layout
- cleaned up livesplit files from regions and layouts
- added a bunch of new variables to be used in ASL var viewer. For the full list see readme.
- finally found a SRDC rule satisfying split point for the final segment
Known issues:
- Rank does not differentiate between Easy and Original difficulty
- Boss Survival timer is not reset to 0 after a run (a bug from the game)
- TotalPOWsaved variable only goes up to 15 (indicator for Jennifer friendship instead of true POW variable?)

Updates:
- removed the rank 4 event for splitting to unify the splits across Any%, Big Boss and 100% categories.
- removed layout (and links to layouts in splits, bad habit)
- added countdown alert for all game versions as state for ASL Var Viewer
Known issues:
- final segment splits logically when the game recognizes the run as finished (gametime stops, final map loaded) -> this is 10-9 frames too early for the actual RTA final split defintion. A solution needs to be found in the future, your runs will be retimed for now.

- add propver variables like Rank output, Class 1-4, other. (feel free to suggest more)
- unify splitters into one file
