The A-4 will not launch from the super carriers with the latest update, the AI A-4 will also not launch or even hook-up. Both Client and AI work fine on the USS Forestall

I can get the aircraft hooked up to the Cat but I cannot get the "Salute" to trigger the launch. I tried the Stennis and the TR on all locations. On the Forestall it works fine still. This bug is since todays update, it worked fine on the original 2.9 release

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Use the super carrier module
  2. Try to launch
  3. Get mad

Expected behavior
Aircraft should launch with the salute command.

  • DCS Version: [DCS open beta update 2.9.0.47168 ]
  • A-4E Version [Latest beta release 2.1.2]

Additional context
They added a animated salute on the Hornet, if you have the pilot model active {shown) the salute function works well, I.E. voice attack and Via-Com, but without the model you have to use the \ menu. Seems odd, but I tried it both ways and those were my results.

hm, weird, i'm able to launch of the SC without issue. the salute command is not the same key you'd use on the other carriers, you have to use the comms menu on the SC, it's always been that way.

it looks like this is a result of the hotfix patch this week from ED for DCS. we'll see what we can do.

Seems possible this same issue is related to #617 .

interestingly enough, this bug may not be ours to fix -- the F-18 is also reporting that you have to be in full afterburner to get a launch of the supercarrier.

more and more this is looking like a DCS bug, so let's sit on it until the next DCS hotfix to see if that irons things out.

Getting preliminary reports that this issue is solved in today's patch for DCS 2.9.1.48111 on the Open Beta. If anyone else can confirm, that would be great.

DCS: Supercarrier by Eagle Dynamics

  • Fixed: The salute command doesn't work when using option Afterburner detent.
  • Fixed: MT-DCS. Carrier deck shake due to unknown reasons
  • Known issues: Controls frozen on 2nd takeoff from a non SC module carrier

Remaining issue seems to be that AI units will not hook-in to the carrier catapult. They will start on the carrier and launch if they're starting on the cat.

I can confirm, loaded a SC in the SA map with a full deck of A-4's. The four hooked up at the start of the mission launched fine but the others taxied into position but did not follow the marshalling directions to hook up.

Same issue here.
Setting 4 AI on the SC to start from either the Ramp or Parking (Hot/Cold) they move to the Cats but don't hook up. (For all 4 of them)

Setting the AI to start from Runway (Carrier in this instance) they launch fine so it's just the hook up.
