when using helix over mosh, the screen doesn't get cleared and characters get left all over the place until they are overwritten. with this change, the screen gets properly cleared as soon as helix starts

when using helix over mosh, the screen doesn't get cleared and

edit: fwiw, this seems to be because mosh doesn't handle alternate screens at all. I can still see the editor ui after it has quit, so I guess mosh is at fault here, but making the change on this side is way easier
