When backup hooks were first implemented, there were just "hooks", that were executed before backing up an item. Later, "pre hooks" and "post hooks" were added, with "pre hooks" replacing the generic "hooks". This PR removed the deprecated "hooks" and leaves "pre hooks" and "post hooks".
