I have this issue where if I'm opening a single file, the editor comes up but is not focused, so I need to click in it before I can start editing. The same does not happen when opening multiple files.

Thanks for reporting it and the pull request. I haven't experienced this myself on Win7 and Win8 or a specific program.

Does it happen all the time or just for one or more programs?

I just started using your script, and only have one editor defined - I replaced "notepad.exe" with SublimeText.exe.
I'm on Win7.

Just downloaded ST to try it and it doesn't happen here but I accepted your pull request and bumped the version number to v0.93.

Thanks again. 👍
