I browsed on slack docs, they are so vast and mostly talk about the tokens I get from other users for my app. Is this relevant at all?

Can you add user/password login feature for us noobs?

I can add it, meanwhile were you able to get your token?

@exebook you need to go through the process of creating your own Slack App to obtain a token. Its the only way to get a token since they presume anyone who is wanting a token is wanting so to develop their own slack app. https://api.slack.com

Looks like you can also use the legacy method to generate a token without creating an app: https://api.slack.com/custom-integrations

I was able to find legacy tokens here https://api.slack.com/custom-integrations/legacy-tokens

@chrisgarry is there a way to create an app but without install? Without admin privileges you cannot add apps to a team

@jbrennan I was adding the token from the non-deprecated page and was wondering why it was not working.

As you mentioned, it worked by creating legacy token from: https://api.slack.com/custom-integrations/legacy-tokens

Thank you!
