Enh: Using libgtop for 'undefined' platforms

Just a little suggestion. You could use libgtop when configure has found the platform to be unsupported/undefined. It has broad 'top' support for almost any platform (aix / cygwin / osf1 / solaris to name a couple). I would be another dependency and it might require a little more resources here and there.
