Apologies in advance for my primitive UI skills, but what about something like this?

Note that this would not be the only way to add new tokens. For example, someone could Waggle you something that you don't already have a wallet for, and your wallet would simply accept it into the appropriate wallet.

Please note that ALL COUNTERPARTY ASSETS are searchable too, using the same box.

"Get More Info" would take you to the web page for the token/asset.

That would be sick................................. is that even possible?

ie. afaik Monacoin doesn't have any good APIs to make calls to... so it wouldn't be able to do this, would it?

It is possible if we have the right API. :)

An idea "like this" has been on the table for a while now: hivewallet/discussions#6

@larskluge , Jeremy Lam from @vennd and I have been talking about how to make it make sense.

Nice! Love to see this moving forward!

Singularity API for all crypto... if it worked, that would be sick.

Open source it and spring up servers all over the world, the multi-token wallet movement might spring up some more.

Sounds like a bright future.

Indeed, especially if this pans out:

Or if Bitcoin Sidechains can offer something similar that keeps mining
pools in line and compliant or risk getting blacklisted or requiring
additional puzzles to solve this reducing their effectiveness.

Everything about Sidechains seems fairly dubious to me, but I leave judgment for the white paper.

That said, have they actually proposed something like that? Got a link?

Yes it certainly is dubious and cryptic until they publish docs and code.
I'm hopeful that they will offer something that is difficult to ignore and
could improve the original Bitcoin Blockchain network. Applying similar
concepts of DPOS to the PoW mining industry seems like a no-brainer to me
but I do not have any knowledge of Blockstream plans.
