Add linked Bible readings to sermons published with Seriously Simple Podcasting.

== Description ==

Seriously Simple Podcasting is a great plugin for publishing your church's weekly sermons, but no sermon is really complete without a relevant Bible reading - that's what this plugin allows you to add to your sermons published with Seriously Simple Podcasting.

Simply put - this plugin adds a new 'Bible reading' text field to your episodes where you can specify the reading for that sermon. For your site visitors, this will add the reading to the episode meta data that is displayed beneath the media player with the reading linked to biblegateway.com for the full text.

**Primary Features**

Installing "Bible Readings for Seriously Simple Podcasting" can be done either by searching for "Bible Readings for Seriously Simple Podcasting" via the "Plugins > Add New" screen in your WordPress dashboard, or by using the following steps:

= What version of Seriously Simple Podcasting does this plugin require? =

In order to use this plugin you need to have at least v1.15 of [Seriously Simple Podcasting](https://wordpress.org/plugins/seriously-simple-podcasting/). If you do not have Seriously Simple Podcasting active or you are using a version older than v1.15 then this plugin will do nothing.

= What site is linked to for the actual Bible passage? =

The Bible readings link to biblegateway.com and are displayed on that site using the version selected in ther settings. You can use the `ssp_bible_readings_url` filter to modify the URL for the link if you would like it to point it to a different site. = How do I change the Bible version in use? =

You will find a new setting at the bottom of the "Podcast > Settings" page where you can select which Bible version is used - it defaults to the New International Version (NIV). You can filter this to use [any version that biblegateway.com offers](https://www.biblegateway.com/versions/) using the `ssp_bible_readings_version` filter. This filter includes the episode ID as an additional parameter, so you can use it to specify a different version for specific episodes. = Can I include multiple readings in one episode? =

Yes, you can! Just separate each passage with a comma (`,`). The following formats (and their combinations/variations) will all work:

You can string any amount of passages together like that and they will all display on the same page when opened, in the order that you added them.

It is the same media player that is built into WordPress itself, but I have styled it using the [Media Player Style Kit plugin](https://wordpress.org/plugins/media-player-style-kit/).
