keepass protector - possible to use under windows?

Been using keepass protector in linux for a few years, and now tried to use it in Windows 11 but it doesn't appear to work.

Is it possible to modify it for Windows usage?

You can check which MIME types CopyQ recognizes in clipboard by opening the app's main window and selecting File - Show Clipboard Content from menu bar (Ctrl+Shift+C).

I think that on Windows the type name is ExcludeClipboardContentFromMonitorProcessing (see the KeePassXC source code).

I am using KeePass instead of KeePassXC, and when copying a string from the editing window, its mime type is text/plain. I am not sure what will happen on KeePassXC.

But this script only work on keepass main window, when copy string form edit/detail window, it wont work. It is best to use the correct MIMEType which I just don't know exactly.

This is likely KeePass oddity. Password generator, entry (notes), main windows all have KeePassXC in the window title so the solution works perfectly in KeePassXC.

On the other hand, using the mime option (thanks @hluk for the relevant source in keepassxc codebase):

works the way as you described - passwd/username etc copying from the main window is hidden, but if password entry is opened and something is copied from the notes or passwd is copied from the password generator, then that ends up in copyq.

So based on my anecdotal testing, the Window option is safer on Windows than the Input.

So, for KeePassXC, Window=KeePass(XC)?$ is enough, whether it's Linux or Windows.
For KeePass, more regular matching is required, but this is language dependent and lacks universality.

Turns out I was lying. The Input method works the same way on Linux as well. Guess I copied the notes in my test using the little preview-window at the bottom of the main window which is why it worked.

And based on this keepassxc thread this is how it's supposed to work and it's not expected to change. So if we want wider coverage we're left with Window and regex magic.
