@wonderchook - who can switch the learnosm.org domain to github? I've already created the necessary CNAME entry. All that's needed now to switch from current site to new site is this A record entry for learnosm.org (GitHub docs):

learnosm.org. 3259 IN A 204.232.175.78

There are still some final touches to do on site, but I'd like to tee this up.

Once we switch domain we need to update this line in _config.yml:

baseurl: /learnosm

Should be:

baseurl: /

learnosm.org is registered on dreamhost and I'm not sure I can add the A record as you've described. The most I seem to be able to do is add an A record pointing to 204.232.175.78 ?

Any idea how to make this work via DH?

@jeffhaack - I presume you're using a web UI that simplifies the record for you. Modifying the existing A record and make it point to 204.232.175.78 seems to be sufficient. Note that we don't want to change the record just yet. Feel free to get in touch on IRC, happy to do quick screen share.

Ok - let me know when we're ready to change it over. I'm not sure if I can circumvent the web UI, but if a simple A record works then that is no problem. If needed we can hook up a screen share later, just can't today. ~cheers

btw I set the DNS for http://right.learnosm.org/ to that IP, if that will help for testing purposes

@jeffhaack - I'd like to get ready for doing the domain switch tomorrow. Would that be good for you?

yes, that's no problem, just give me a heads up at least a few hours in advance, I'm on Jakarta time. ~cheers

@jeffhaack - let's switch right now and do a soft launch.

(with soft launch I mean we'll just be online for two or three hours before we actually blog about it)
