I made a issue about a year ago and nobody responded. i'm guessing it got buried under all the other issues. So i closed it and am trying to 'bump' the same issue. it has to do with impractical angles for phone tilt. ##9968

What happens?

I would like to be able to play on a phone or tablet and use tilt control for the analog stick. however, the calibrate seems to only want to work if the phone is facing the sky instead of my face (calibrate says 'place on a flat surface'). When i hold the phone normally, the tilt makes the analog stick pull all the way down. this makes ace combat nearly impossible to play since the jet continuously pitches up.

What should happen?

It'd be nice if there was a quick calibrate button on screen (similar to how there are the XO[]^ and L, R, Start, Select, etc on-screen controls). Calibration to use the angle the phone was at when the calibrate button is pressed instead of just using angle of 'flat surface'. This will make the analog stick centered when the screen is facing my face instead of having to point the screen towards the sky. And it will fix the issue where if you want to pitch down, you have to do it blind; meaning tilting the phone until you cannot see the screen.

What hardware, operating system, and PPSSPP version?

  • Samsung s7
  • Android lolipop (ver 5.1.1)
  • PPSSPP ver 1.7.1

I too would love to have this feature!
If anyone wants to give this a go, this one too would be nice to add: #10808
