Preferred Review Policy

We respectfully ask that Area Directors and Directorate reviewers adhere to the following directions when submitting Last Call comments, as per Section 6.1.2 of RFC 2026:

  1. Reviews should be in the IETF Comments Markdown Format. This allows us to easily create issues for them. Please validate your review using the tool before submission.

  2. Please check the issues list for similar issues to avoid duplication (we will update it as reviews are submitted). In particular, please do not substantially duplicate another reviewer's comment. If you'd like to support another review's suggestion, the appropriate place to do so is in the corresponding issue.

  3. If you find a serious concern (e.g., a blocking issue, a DISCUSS), please clearly indicate how you think it can be resolved.

  4. Please refrain from making observations or asking questions that are not related to your review responsibilities in the review itself. Communication with the authors and/or Working Group is more appropriate for these interactions.

  5. If you nevertheless wish to make editorial corrections or suggestions, please do so either in a separate document, or as a Pull Request to our repository. Please make separate Pull Requests for suggestions in each section of the document. Such editorial suggestions may or may not be acted upon, but please do not expect an explicit response or discussion of them.

Following these guidelines will allow us to publish a high-quality technical document without unreasonably burdening the editors. Thank you!
